NANS Congratulates Adeleke on Governorship Victory

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), South-West Zone D, congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory in the August 15 governorship election, describing it as a “resounding vote of confidence.” Adeleke, the Accord Party candidate, won with 511,067 votes, defeating Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who received 444,815 votes. NANS emphasized the significant participation of students from various tertiary institutions in the election and urged Adeleke to prioritize their welfare in his second term.

The association listed institutions such as Obafemi Awolowo University and Osun State University among those whose students participated. They expressed that their support for Adeleke was based on a thorough assessment of his administration over the past four years.

NANS called for increased investment in state-owned tertiary institutions, improved infrastructure, and enhanced student engagement with the government. They congratulated President Bola Tinubu and other stakeholders involved in the election while urging Adeleke to strengthen educational institutions and expand opportunities for youth.
