Aderemi Makanjuola Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Aderemi Makanjuola, the Chairman of Caverton Offshore Support Group, was honored with the UK Varsity Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award during the alumni award dinner held at the University of Leicester on April 14, 2026. This award recognizes individuals whose lives demonstrate sustainable and transformative impacts across multiple domains.

Makanjuola, born on November 24, 1948, in Lagos, began his educational journey at Ahmadiyya College, where he was a senior prefect. He pursued higher education in Sofia, Bulgaria, and later at the University of Leicester, graduating with a BA in Economics in 1976 and a Master’s in Manpower Planning Management from the University of Manchester.

Makanjuola's career in the financial sector began in December 1977 with Union Bank of Nigeria, where he spent two decades before moving to Devcom Merchant Bank. His work has significantly reshaped the aviation and logistics landscape in West Africa.
