PFIPC Director Adeniyi Adeyemi Detained Over Fraud Claims

Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-proclaimed Director General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), was detained at the former Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) headquarters in Abuja. His arrest was carried out by an intelligence response team led by Chief Superintendent of Police Mose Lohor, following a warrant issued by Justice Moham Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Adeyemi is accused of conspiracy, forgery, and impersonating a senior police officer. Sources confirmed that he is currently being interrogated at the IRT headquarters.

The Osun State Police Command, represented by spokesperson Biodun Ojelabi, confirmed the operation, stating that Adeyemi was apprehended in Osun State and later flown to Abuja. Meanwhile, Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President, has filed a N15 billion defamation suit against Adeyemi, alleging that he demanded a 48% kickback from a N27.3 billion grant approved by a federal agency.

Gbajabiamila seeks N10 billion in general damages and N5 billion in aggravated damages.
