ICPC Exposes Fake Agencies Linked to PFIPC Investigation

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has uncovered two additional fake government agencies while investigating Adeniyi Matthew Adeyemi, who falsely claimed to be the Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). ICPC Chairman, Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, presented an interim report to President Bola Tinubu on Thursday in Abuja, confirming that Adeyemi was never appointed by the Federal Government and that the PFIPC was not legally established.

The investigation revealed that Adeyemi forged an appointment letter and misused the facilities of the former Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PEAC) for illegal activities. The two fake agencies identified are the FCT Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) and the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA), which were created using forged documents.

The investigation found no evidence of government funds being allocated to these fake entities. The ICPC has recommended Adeyemi's prosecution and sanctions against public officers involved, while investigations continue to uncover more details.
