Reps Demand PFIPC DG Adeyemi Adeniyi's Appearance in 48 Hours

The House of Representatives directed the Inspector-General of Police to present Adeyemi Adeniyi, the Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), within 48 hours for an investigation. This order was issued during a hearing by the House Committee on the PFIPC at the National Assembly in Abuja.

Lawmakers are probing allegations that the PFIPC operates without legal authority while receiving government privileges and financial allocations. The committee is also investigating how the PFIPC secured office space in the Federal Secretariat Complex despite its questionable legal status and a reported budgetary provision of ₦1.32 billion in the 2026 Appropriation Act.

Committee Chairman Yusuf Gagdi emphasized the necessity of Adeniyi's appearance due to the serious nature of the allegations involving public officials. The police confirmed ongoing criminal investigations against Adeniyi, with an eight-count charge already filed in a Federal High Court.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Bashir Abdullahi represented the police at the hearing.
