APC Defends Campaign Council Adjustments as Strength

Abimbola Tooki, the Media Adviser to the All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairman, clarified that the recent adjustments to the APC Presidential Campaign Council membership should not be interpreted as a failure of consultation. He described the adjustments as a strength, indicating that acknowledging human error and making necessary changes reflects positively on the party.

Tooki asserted that the council's composition resulted from extensive consultations among party leaders and was not dictated by any single individual. He defended the inclusion of ministers and political appointees, stating they were APC members prior to their appointments and should actively participate in the campaign.

Specifically, he addressed concerns regarding the inclusion of the chairman of the Nigerian Railway Corporation in the fundraising committee, asserting that his dual role as a political appointee does not provide the APC with an unfair advantage. Tooki also dismissed fears about the use of government resources for party activities, emphasizing that the APC relies on its membership for funding.
