CAS to Hear Senegal's AFCON Appeal on October 8, 2026

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has scheduled a hearing for October 8, 2026, at its headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, to address the appeal filed by the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) against the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). This appeal follows Senegal's controversial 1-0 victory over Morocco in the AFCON 2025 final, during which Senegal left the pitch for 15 minutes in protest over a contentious penalty awarded to Morocco.

After Morocco lodged a complaint, CAF's Appeals Board ruled in favor of Morocco, prompting Senegal to seek redress from CAS in March. CAS confirmed that both parties did not request an expedited hearing, leading to the scheduled date.

The hearing will be private, and a decision is not expected on the day of the hearing, with deliberations to follow. Both Senegal and Morocco aim to claim their second AFCON titles, with Senegal having won twice in the last three tournaments and Morocco seeking its first title since 1976.
