Afikuyomi Praises Tinubu's Directive on Osun Accounts

Tokunbo Afikuyomi, a legal practitioner and Principal Partner at Liberty Semper Fidelis LP, praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to return to court and seek the discharge of the order freezing the accounts of the Osun State Government. He described this action as a commitment to electoral fairness and constitutional governance.

In a statement issued on the day following the directive, Afikuyomi noted that the president's intervention was timely, given the scrutiny of public confidence in state institutions. He emphasized that the EFCC, as a statutory body, must operate within the law, and that judicial orders should only be reviewed through due process.

Afikuyomi called for respect for the independence of investigative agencies and the courts, urging other institutions involved in the upcoming Osun State governorship election to adopt a similar stance to uphold the integrity of the electoral process.
