Afikuyomi Commends Tinubu's Directive on Osun Accounts

Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi, Principal Partner at Liberty Semper Fidelis LP and former Senate Deputy Minority Whip, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for directing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to return to court to seek the discharge of the order freezing the accounts of the Osun State Government. In a statement issued on Thursday, Afikuyomi described the President's action as a commitment to electoral fairness, emphasizing that elections must not only be free and fair but also perceived as such.

He acknowledged the need for constitutional governance, stating that the EFCC's functions must adhere to legal frameworks. By directing the EFCC to pursue judicial resolution, President Tinubu reinforced the separation of powers and the independence of institutions.

Afikuyomi called on various stakeholders involved in the Osun governorship election to draw inspiration from the President's commitment to safeguarding the democratic process, asserting that free and fair elections are essential and a shared responsibility among all public institutions and citizens.
