AFN Addresses Concerns Over N15,000 Athlete Registration Fee

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has responded to athlete concerns regarding the N15,000 registration fee for the new athlete roster platform. AFN President Tonobok Okowa clarified that the fee is subject to negotiation and board approval, with assurances of a substantial reduction.

The fee is intended for managing athlete data and competition entries nationwide, with a focus on tackling age cheating and improving data integration. Athletes are assured that the fee will not be a financial burden and that any excess funds will be used for athlete development.
