Africacomicade and GIZ Nigeria Boost Game Development Opportunities

Africacomicade, led by Iyke Bede, has partnered with GIZ Digital Transformation Centre (DTC) Nigeria to expand opportunities for young Nigerian game developers and emerging studio founders through a specialized game development bootcamp and international industry exposure. This partnership is part of the ICT Skills for Youth initiative of DTC Nigeria and follows the attendance of Nigerian games industry stakeholders at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany, in August.

Michael Oscar, the founder of Africacomicade, expressed gratitude for GIZ Nigeria's support, highlighting the historical constraints faced by Nigeria's gaming sector. Edu Shola, founder of Deluxe Studios, noted that the initiative has provided essential access to commercial opportunities.

The bootcamp will combine game development workflows with business strategy, culminating in a showcase at Gamathon 2026 in Lagos from October 28 to 31, where participants can present their work and connect with the broader gaming ecosystem.
