The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) hosted a delegation from the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) led by Director of Corporate Affairs Mr. Eric Pwadura at its headquarters in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The visit aimed to deepen Ghana's understanding of Nigeria's local content development framework. NCDMB's General Manager of Corporate Communications, Dr.
Obinna Ezeobi, emphasized the board's commitment to supporting peer learning across Africa. Felix Ogb, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, noted Africa's hydrocarbon resources and the importance of local content development to reduce reliance on foreign technology.
The board has a ten-year strategic roadmap structured around five strategic pillars, including technical capability development and compliance enforcement. Ogb highlighted the Nigerian Content Intervention Fund, which provides single-digit loans to indigenous service companies.
Mr. Pwadura expressed appreciation for the opportunity to learn from Nigeria's experience, acknowledging that Ghana's current local content structure is less developed.
