AHMTEC 2026 to Focus on Health Manufacturing in Ethiopia

The African Health Manufacturers, Technology, Exhibition and Conference (AHMTEC 2026) will take place from October 26 to 28, 2026, at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The theme for this year's conference is “Industrialise to Commercialise,” marking a shift towards achieving commercial scale in health manufacturing.

The event is hosted by the Federation of African Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Associations (FAPMA), Vizuri Health Dynamics, and the Ethiopian Pharmaceuticals and Medical Supplies Manufacturing Industries Sectorial Association (EPMSMISA), in partnership with Health 4 Development (H4D). The conference will feature two tracks: Industrialise, focusing on the operating environment for manufacturers, and Commercialise, addressing enterprise issues.

Key topics include regulatory harmonisation, pooled procurement, and diagnostics manufacturing. Ann-Marie Hosang-Archer, Chair of the AHMTEC 2026 Secretariat, stated that the conference aims to bridge the gap between industrialisation and commercial success.

The programme will also report on initiatives from AHMTEC 2025, which included the Accra Declaration and the launch of Unitaid’s $50 million Regional Manufacturing for Equitable Access in Africa portfolio.
