Afriland Properties Appoints Agatha Obiekwugo as Chairman

Afriland Properties Plc has appointed Mrs Agatha Obiekwugo as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors, succeeding Mr Emmanuel Nnorom, who is retiring after over a decade of leadership. Obiekwugo joined the board in October 2018 as a non-executive director and has served on several committees, including the Finance, Risk and General-Purpose Committee, and the Nomination, Audit and Governance Committee.

As chairman, she will provide strategic oversight as the company expands its real estate portfolio in Nigeria. Mr Azubike Emodi, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Afriland Properties, expressed gratitude to Nnorom for his dedicated service and welcomed Obiekwugo, highlighting her extensive experience and understanding of the company.

Obiekwugo has over three decades of experience across banking, commerce, IT, consulting, and oil and gas. She is the founder and CEO of Adassa Energy Limited and serves on the boards of Heirs Insurance Brokers and Houce Limited.

She holds an MBA in marketing and has completed executive programs at Harvard Business School.
