Charity Home in Anambra Seeks Support for Vulnerable Inmates

Rev. Fr. Anthoni Ananwa, the founder of a charity home located in Oraifit, Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Anambra State, has solicited support from the public, church organizations, and corporate bodies to enhance the home’s capacity to care for vulnerable groups in society. The charity home, registered in Anambra State in 2012 and recognized by the federal government in 2013, currently accommodates 250 inmates facing various life challenges, including physical, sensory, intellectual, and mental health disabilities.

Fr. Ananwa expressed regret that, despite individual assistance, no church organization or corporate body has extended help to the charity home. He emphasized the urgent need for financial support to expand the facilities, which are currently limited in accommodating individuals with special needs.

The charity home aims to provide a safe haven and quality education, but requires additional land, property, solar power, and borehole facilities to meet its core mandate effectively.
