Kwara Distributes Digital Devices to 70 Schools

On Friday, the Kwara State Government initiated the distribution of digital devices to 70 selected secondary schools across all 16 local government areas. The distributed equipment includes 1,755 all-in-one desktop computers, 70 printers, 70 projectors, and 70 motorized projector screens, alongside a 10KVA solar power system, internet connectivity, and CCTV cameras already installed in each school.

This initiative is part of the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project, aimed at improving access to quality secondary education for adolescent girls. During the flag-off ceremony in Ilorin, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, represented by Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi, emphasized the importance of digital literacy in education.

He urged students to utilize the devices for learning and creativity, while also calling on school principals and teachers to integrate the technology into their teaching. Education Commissioner Lawal Olohungbebe reiterated the necessity of digital skills for students, particularly girls, to thrive in the modern world.

AGILE project coordinator Adesina Salami praised the governor's commitment to education.
