AGN Lifts Suspension on Nollywood Actress Halima Abubakar After Allegations Resolved

The Actor Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has officially lifted the suspension on Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar, allowing her to resume participation in guild activities and film projects. Abubakar had been under indefinite suspension since October 2024 due to allegations of defamation against a fellow actor.

Following a two-year investigation, a panel appointed by the guild found her culpable, leading to her temporary exclusion from AGN programs. The announcement of her reinstatement was made by the outgoing AGN National President, Emeka Rolla, during the inauguration of the guild's new National Executive Council (NEC) in Abuja.

The event, which drew actors and filmmakers from across the country, also saw the lifting of suspensions on other members including Christoph Igboji, Chidi Concord, Dan Ewerem, and Jeff Okwut from the Enugu state chapter. Rolla cited the need for stability and inclusivity in the guild as reasons for lifting the suspensions.
