Nigeria Launches Agri360 Initiative for Youth and Women

On September 9, 2026, during the National Colloquium on the Role of Women and Youth in Agricultural Mechanization at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja, the First Lady of Nigeria, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, commended the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security for launching the Agri360 Mechanization Training Initiative. This initiative aims to create a mechanization-as-a-service economy, enabling farmers to access affordable machinery while empowering 5,000 women and youth in areas such as agricultural mechanization, digital agriculture, equipment operation, maintenance, entrepreneurship, and agribusiness management.

Sen. Tinubu emphasized that agricultural mechanization would improve traditional farming methods, increase productivity, and attract young Nigerians to agriculture. She noted the importance of equipping women with skills and resources, which would benefit their families and communities.

Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Sen. Abubakar Kyari, also spoke, stating that the future of Nigerian agriculture must transition from physical labor to technology and enterprise.
