Nigeria Launches Training for 4,000 Tractor Operators

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, in collaboration with the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF), AGCOMS International, and the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), initiated a nationwide training program aimed at transforming agriculture, enhancing food security, and creating job opportunities for young Nigerians. The program commenced with the first group of 250 trainees starting a two-week residential training at CSS Farms in Nasarawa State.

This initiative is part of a larger goal to train 4,000 participants to operate and maintain advanced John Deere tractors and other agricultural machinery. Senator Abubakar Kyari, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, emphasized the program's significance in empowering Nigerian farmers and improving food security.

The training curriculum includes various aspects of tractor operation and maintenance, and successful participants will receive AGCOMS-ITF-NADF Certificates of Completion. The program reflects the Federal Government's commitment to public-private partnerships in agricultural transformation.
