Umo Eno Inaugurates Health Centre in Akwa Ibom

On September 15, 2026, Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno inaugurated a model primary health centre in Ikot Ekpe, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, as part of the state's 39th anniversary celebrations. The facility aims to provide comprehensive primary healthcare services to residents and neighboring communities, fulfilling Eno's campaign promise and reflecting the healthcare component of his administration's ARISE Agenda.

Eno, represented by the Commissioner for Works, Prof. Eno Ibanga, stated that the project is designed to improve health standards in rural areas. The Commissioner of Health, Dr. Ekem John, highlighted that the centre is equipped with modern facilities and staffed to meet local healthcare needs, reducing the need for long-distance travel for basic services.

Local leaders, including Engr. Emmanuel Inyang and members of the All Progressives Congress, praised the initiative, emphasizing its potential to significantly reduce morbidity and mortality rates in the area.
