Aikhomu Foundation Proposes Partnership for New Medical Centre

On Friday, the Board of Trustees of the Late Augustus Akhabue Aikhomu Foundation visited the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, in Abuja to propose a strategic partnership for managing a newly completed 62-bed medical facility in Idumu-Iyase, Ewatto, Edo State. The delegation, led by Chief Dr.

Leemon Ikpea, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Lee Engineering, seeks a public-private partnership with the Federal Government, where a designated Federal medical institution would manage the hospital while ownership remains with the Foundation. The facility includes male, female, and pediatric wards, operating theatres, and diagnostic services.

The official launch of the Foundation and the biography of Admiral Augustus Akhabue Aikhomu is scheduled for October 20, 2026, at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, where the Minister is invited to commission the medical centre to enhance healthcare delivery in the region.
