Air Peace Denies Tax Dispute with Lagos State Government

Air Peace, Nigeria's leading airline, has issued a statement denying allegations of a tax dispute with the Lagos State government. The airline clarified that neither its chairman, Allen Ifechukwu Oyema, nor vice chairman, Alic Ojochide Onyema, has been served with any court summons related to a lawsuit claiming an income tax liability of ₦94 million.

This claim pertains to unpaid personal income tax linked to earnings and financial activities within the state. Air Peace expressed surprise at the reports suggesting ongoing legal proceedings since February, emphasizing the lack of official communication.

The airline maintains that it has consistently fulfilled its tax obligations in accordance with existing laws and regulatory requirements, asserting its compliance to date.
