Airtel Africa Plc has disclosed that between 21 September 2026 and 28 September 2026, it purchased a total of 4,607,188 ordinary shares of USD 0.50 each through Barclays Capital Securities Limited across multiple trading venues including the London Stock Exchange, BATS Europe, CHI-X Europe, Aquis Exchange, and Turquoise.
The highest single-day volume in this period was recorded on 23 September 2026, when 1,290,774 shares were purchased at a volume-weighted average price of 311.3874 GBp. The lowest single-day volume occurred on 24 and 25 September 2026, with 200,000 shares purchased on each of those days.
The filing confirms that since the buyback programme commenced on 22 May 2026, Airtel Africa has purchased a cumulative total of 24,515,062 ordinary shares at a volume-weighted average price of 331.29 GBp per share. All purchased shares are to be cancelled rather than held in treasury.
The company stated that the purchases disclosed in this filing represent the final transactions under the initial tranche of the buyback programme announced on 22 May 2026, and that this tranche has now been completed in full accordance with its terms.
