Aishah Ahmad Honored with Traditional Title in Imesi-Ile

Aishah Ndanusa Ahmad, who served as the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria from 2018 to 2023, was honored with the traditional title of "Yey Tayes" in Imesi-Ile, Osun State, on February 5. This title, conferred by Oba Ademola Akinyemi Oyoyo II, acknowledges her maternal lineage and her commitment to societal progress.

Ahmad is recognized as a leader whose achievements reflect the values of Imesi-Ile, and she has maintained strong connections to her community despite her global engagements. Her husband, Brigadier General Abdallah Al Hassan Ahmad (Rtd), also received the title of "Baba Tayes," preserving Yoruba traditions.

Ahmad's heritage includes ties to the Nupe lineage in Niger State, where she has been active in women's empowerment and youth development initiatives. Her dual recognition highlights the importance of cultural heritage and leadership in public service, emphasizing her three-decade career in finance and governance.
