Aiyedatiwa Honors Akeredolu on His Posthumous Birthday

On Tuesday, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State paid tribute to his late predecessor, Rotimi Akeredolu, on the occasion of Akeredolu's posthumous 70th birthday. Aiyedatiwa described Akeredolu as a leader, mentor, and courageous statesman whose legacy continues to shape the state.

He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to building on the foundation laid by Akeredolu to sustain the vision of a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Ondo State. Akeredolu served as the Governor of Ondo State from February 2017 until his death on December 27, 2023, and was recognized for his advocacy for true federalism and the establishment of the Western Nigeria Security Network, codenamed Amotekun.

Aiyedatiwa, who succeeded Akeredolu as governor, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside him and pledged to honor Akeredolu's memory by continuing his vision for the state. He also prayed for the comfort of Akeredolu's family and the eternal rest of his soul.
