Aiyedatiwa Advocates Leadership Training in Universities

On Thursday, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State delivered a lecture titled "Leadership and Organizational Performance in a Technologically Rapidly Changing World" at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA). He stressed that Nigeria's future economic and technological advancements depend significantly on the quality of leadership cultivated by educational institutions.

Aiyedatiwa described higher institutions as critical in innovating and developing human capital necessary for national competitiveness. He noted that leadership is a continuous process that involves influencing and motivating people towards collective goals rather than exercising coercion.

The governor traced the evolution of leadership theories, emphasizing that effective leadership is developed through education, experience, and situational awareness. He warned that technology alone does not guarantee organizational success and highlighted the importance of integrating leadership strategies.

Prof. Adenik Oladiji, the Vice Chancellor of FUTA, welcomed Aiyedatiwa's address, noting that technology is vital for enhancing organizational performance.
