Ajayi and Nathaniel Return at Silesia Diamond League

Nigerian sprinters Kanyinsola Ajayi and Ezekiel Nathaniel are making their first competitive returns since the Commonwealth Games at the Silesia Diamond League meeting in Poland. Ajayi will compete in the 100m, with the preliminary round at 2:50 PM and the final at 4:11 PM.

He recently won a bronze medal in the men’s 100m at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, clocking 9.90 seconds, marking Nigeria’s first men’s 100m medal at the Games in 20 years. Ajayi, who recently turned professional after signing a sponsorship deal with Adidas, has set a Nigerian 100m record of 9.84 seconds and achieved a wind-assisted time of 9.72 seconds this season.

He is currently ranked fifth in the world by World Athletics. Ezekiel Nathaniel will compete in the 400m hurdles final at 3:04 PM, having won gold in Glasgow with a time of 48.47 seconds.

He holds the Nigerian record of 47.86 seconds and has consistently performed well in international competitions.
