Akpabio Urges Igbo Youth to Avoid Armed Struggle

During a funeral for Sir Albert Ikechukwu Nnamani, former administrative secretary of the defunct Oil Mineral Producing Areas Development Commission, Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, appealed to Igbo youth to refrain from engaging in armed struggle against the Nigerian government. He emphasized the need for peace to foster development in the Southeast, stating that attempts to assert independence through violence would ultimately fail.

Akpabio reassured that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is committed to addressing past grievances and ensuring that the Igbo people are not marginalized. He highlighted the detrimental economic impact of the "sit-at-home" orders in the region and urged the youth to seek constructive paths rather than being misled by negative political advice.

Akpabio concluded by stressing the importance of justice and reconciliation for the future of the Igbo people.
