Godswill Akpabio Prays for Nigeria's Peace in Italy

Senate President Godswill Akpabio visited the Prayer Ground of St. Padre Pio in San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy, where he prayed for peace in Nigeria, an end to banditry and terrorism, and peaceful general elections in 2027. Accompanied by his entourage, Akpabio expressed the need for divine intervention in Nigeria's security challenges.

He shared a personal account of his wife, Unoma Akpabio, who spent six months in a coma in a German hospital after a failed operation. He attributed her miraculous recovery to the intercession of St. Padre Pio, stating that he used the saint's image to bless her instead of turning off her life support.

This visit marked Akpabio's 10th to the site, where he expressed gratitude to God and St. Padre Pio, mentioning that the family had named one of their sons Pio in honor of the saint and established the Pio Football Academy.
