Mrs Akpabio Clarifies Purpose of National Assembly Visit

On Saturday, Mrs Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, the wife of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, visited the National Assembly to inspect malfunctioning installations. This visit was directed by Senator Godswill Akpabio and was not related to any spiritual cleansing, as clarified by Dr Jibril Tafida, the Special Adviser to the Senate President on Diaspora and NGOs.

Tafida dismissed claims from an online publication suggesting that Mrs Akpabio had “unholy access” to the Senate chamber, stating that her team consisted of engineers and technicians, including experts in electrical, ICT, audio-visual, and building maintenance. The visit was prompted by complaints from senators and staff regarding poor facilities and shoddy work by contractors.

Tafida emphasized that the visit was conducted with the knowledge of relevant officials and did not breach any security protocols. He criticized the media report as misinformation and urged the public to disregard it, reaffirming Mrs Akpabio's reputation for philanthropy and integrity.
