Mary Chinda Empowers Young Women Through Education

Mary Chinda, a correspondent for AriseTV, has initiated a mission to support young women through mentorship, education, and empowerment, particularly addressing the scars of sexual abuse and emotional pain. At the Single Ladies Conference in Enugu, themed “Inner Healing: Broken Yet Beautiful,” Chinda gathered young women to confront their traumas while discussing the dangers of substance abuse, with advocate David Folaranmi warning against using drugs as an escape.

Chinda's initiative, under her StraightenedOut Woman Outreach, includes paying the school fees of female university students, having recently supported six students, including two from the University of Nigeria, UNN. She aims to expand this program to support at least 50 female students annually, starting with 20, as funding allows.

The initiative is primarily funded by her personal income. Chinda also runs an online mentorship program, reaching over 1,000 women, with plans for further expansion across Nigeria.
