Akpabio Thanks Tinubu for New University in Obio Akpa

Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate, expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing the Bill that establishes the Federal University of Agriculture and Technology in Obio Akpa, located in the Oruk Anam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. During a funeral service for the late Hon. Imo Akpan Ibokette, former Majority Leader of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Akpabio commended Governor Umo Eno for promptly releasing the Obio Akpa campus of Akwa Ibom State University to facilitate the new federal institution's smooth take-off.

Akpabio anticipates the admission of the first batch of students into the university within the senatorial district. He recalled that the late Ibokette was the first to congratulate him upon hearing of the bill's passage, noting the personal loss he felt due to Ibokette's death.

The funeral service took place at the Abak International Nursery/Primary School in Abak Local Government Area and was conducted by the Apostolic Church Nigeria.
