Akume Promises Freedom for Nigerians Held by Bandits

On a recent occasion, George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, assured Nigerians in captivity due to banditry that the government is resolute in securing their freedom. This statement was made during a meeting with members of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN), led by their National Amirah, Dr. Sumay Fadimatu Hamza.

Akume reaffirmed the government's commitment to enhancing national security and acknowledged the vital role of faith-based organizations in tackling various challenges facing the country. He expressed optimism regarding ongoing security operations under President Bola Tinubu's administration, emphasizing the need for intensified prayers and community engagement.

Dr. Hamza highlighted FOMWAN's commitment to promoting Islamic values and advancing socio-economic development for women, youth, and children. She called for stronger collaboration with the federal government and requested support for the renovation of FOMWAN's national secretariat and the establishment of additional skill acquisition centers.
