Akwa Ibom Police Arrest Three Over Masquerade Disturbance

On August 31, 2026, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command arrested three individuals—Uwakmfon Sunday, Edidiong Jackson, and Sunday Tom—following a disturbance related to a masquerade in Mbak Akpan Ekpenyong. The police received a distress call at approximately 5:52 p.m. and promptly mobilized to the scene, where they successfully restored normalcy and prevented further escalation of the situation.

Other participants reportedly fled upon the arrival of the police. The masquerade regalia found in the possession of the three suspects was recovered and secured as evidence.
