Police Arrest Three Armed Robbers in Lagos, Recover Weapons

The Lagos State Police Command arrested three suspected armed robbers in the Alakuko area, recovering three locally made pistols and eight rounds of live ammunition. The suspects, identified as Faruk Rasheed (20), Olamilekan Ademola (28), and Abidemi Oluwawemo (21), were tracked down as part of the police's ongoing efforts to combat armed robbery and other criminal activities in Lagos.

SP Abimbola Adebisi, the command’s spokesperson, stated that preliminary investigations revealed the suspects specialized in car snatching and robbing citizens of their valuables. A search of the suspects led to the recovery of two locally made pistols loaded with five cartridges and one locally made revolver pistol loaded with three rounds of 9mm live ammunition.

The suspects are currently in police custody, and efforts are underway to apprehend other members of their alleged syndicate. CP Tijani Fatai, the Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, reaffirmed the command's commitment to dismantling criminal networks and ensuring the safety of residents.
