Dele Alake Endorses National Mining Tax Summit for 2026

Dele Alake, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, officially endorsed the First National Mining Tax Summit scheduled for November 11-13, 2026, in Abuja. In a letter dated October 6, 2026, he described the summit as a timely platform for educating industry players about Nigeria's new solid minerals taxation regime.
Alake emphasized that one of the key reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is the overhaul of the revenue collection system, particularly focusing on solid minerals taxation. He noted the collaborative management of this taxation by the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development and the Nigeria Revenue Service.
The summit is organized by Miners Communications Limited, Secom Limited, and Lambard Consulting. The Miners Association of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria have also expressed support, with CITN nominating two professionals as resource persons.
Alhaji Azeez Alatoye will deliver the keynote address, while Mr Wahab Shina Omoniyi will participate in panel discussions.
