Benue Government Denies Claims on Tor Tiv Palace Relocation

The Benue State Government, led by Governor Hyacinth Alia, has refuted allegations made by former Speaker Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh regarding the proposed relocation of the Tor Tiv Palace in Gboko. Dajoh claimed that Alia sought to move the palace, which Kula described as a "cocktail of conspiracy theories" lacking credible evidence.

Kula stated that there was no official communication from Governor Alia requesting the relocation, labeling Dajoh's assertions as entirely false and imaginary. He further noted that the Benue State House of Assembly does not have the constitutional power to relocate traditional institutions like the Tor Tiv Palace.

Additionally, Kula rejected Dajoh's claims about a supposed expenditure of N200 million related to the removal of the Chief Judge of Benue State, Maurice Ikpambese, demanding verifiable evidence for such allegations. The governor's office urged Dajoh to focus on the circumstances surrounding his departure from the speakership rather than engaging in political grandstanding.
