Alleged Coup Plotters in Nigeria Bought 32 Vehicles for Covert Operations, Security Sources Say

Nigerian security sources revealed that alleged coup plotters against President Bola Tinubu's government bought 32 Golf SUV vehicles to support their secret activities. Military investigations uncovered evidence showing the vehicles were used for covert operations, including gathering intelligence and gaining discreet access to sensitive locations.

Documents supporting the vehicle purchases, including receipts and transaction records, were recovered during the investigation. One retired major general identified as Adamu is linked to the plot, with three suspects currently evading arrest, possibly in South America.

Security agencies are collaborating to dismantle the remaining cells connected to the coup attempt. At least 25 military officers and personnel are expected to face trial in a court-martial, pending presidential approval.

Civilian detainees are also being investigated for their alleged roles in funding, logistics, and coordination of the coup plot.
