Arrest Warrant Issued for Adeniyi Adeyemi in Abuja Court

On Tuesday, Justice Moham Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja issued an arrest warrant against Adeniyi Adeyemi, the Director General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), following his failure to appear in court for arraignment on eight counts of alleged forgery and impersonation. The warrant was requested by counsel Wisdom Madaki after Adeyemi did not respond to a previous court summons.

Adeyemi's lawyer, Genesi Franci, informed the court that his client feared for his life and had written to President Bola Tinubu seeking protection. Justice Umar ordered security agencies to arrest Adeyemi wherever he is found and adjourned the case until September 30, 2025.

The charges against Adeyemi include operating a fictitious agency and using a fake presidential appointment letter dated March 8, 2024, to request approval for a Central Bank of Nigeria account. The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has been directed to conduct a thorough investigation into the activities of the alleged fictitious agency.
