Amaechi Critiques APC's Tactics Ahead of 2027 Elections

Rotimi Amaechi, a former Minister of Transport and presidential aspirant on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of attempting to cripple opposition parties in Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections. In an interview, Amaechi insisted that Nigerians must defend democracy and reject ethnic-based voting.

He criticized the performance of the current government under President Bola Tinubu, claiming it is worse than that of former President Muhammadu Buhari. Amaechi pointed out that despite the APC's promise of change since coming to power in 2015, they have failed to achieve their objectives.

He alleged that the APC-led federal government is using state institutions to intimidate opposition voices. Amaechi urged Nigerians to assess presidential candidates based on their past performances rather than tribal sentiments, advocating for a focus on rule of law, job creation, and security as priorities for the next administration.
