Amanuke Youth Summit Tackles Social Vices Among Youths

The maiden Amanuke Youth Summit took place in Amanuke, Awka North Local Government Area, on Saturday, focusing on the loss of values and rising social vices among youths. Chidebe highlighted the normalization of drug abuse and its societal impacts, advocating for community campaigns against these issues.

Mr. Patrick-Agha Mba, the Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, represented by Tony Omata, encouraged youths to leverage government initiatives like the One Youth Two Skills Programme for empowerment. Mr. Simon Orakwe, the President General of Amanuke, noted that approximately 600 youths participated and called for government support in infrastructure and education.

Edwin Okadigbo from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps urged youths to take ownership of public resources. Chief Chinwike Enemor welcomed attendees and emphasized the importance of applying lessons learned from the summit.
