Anambra Agency Destroys ₦50m Illicit Drugs in Major Raid

On Saturday, the Special Anti-Tout Squad (SASA) of Anambra State conducted a significant operation in Awka, destroying illicit drugs valued at ₦50 million. The operation was managed by Mondai Nwokoy, who announced the arrests of suspects connected to illegal drug businesses.

This raid was prompted by credible intelligence and underscores the agency's zero-tolerance stance against drug abuse and tout activities in the state. Nwokoy warned individuals involved in the sale and consumption of illicit substances to desist, as they risk facing strict legal consequences.

The operation aimed to dismantle drug networks and curb crime across Anambra State. The seized drugs included cocaine, Ghanaian loud, tramadol, cannabis sativa, and mkpulu mmiri.

Nwokoy reaffirmed the agency's commitment to ensuring that hard drugs do not return to society. He also received support from Anambra State Governor Prof.

Chukwuma Soludo, who pledged to continue efforts to rid the state of illicit drugs and criminal activities.
