Anambra State Wins Google Map Platform Award 2025

Anambra State has been recognized as the 'Top Fan' at the Google Map Platform Awards 2025, marking a significant achievement in its innovative approach to property tax administration. The award was presented on Tuesday at Google Headquarters in Silicon Valley, California.

Dr. Greg Ezeilo, the Executive Chairman of Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, highlighted that this recognition validates the state's reform efforts driven by technology.

The initiative, which began a year ago, relies on extensive geospatial technology from Google Maps to create a comprehensive digital view of properties across the state. Approximately 1.5 million properties have been identified, with 553,000 already properly clustered for taxation purposes.

This initiative is expected to optimize revenue streams for the state. Dr.
