HACEY and BOI Distribute 300 Birthing Kits in Anambra

HACEY, in collaboration with the Bank of Industry (BOI), distributed 300 birthing kits to pregnant women and nursing mothers in Anambra State as part of a comprehensive maternal health outreach program. This initiative included two days of intervention combining health education and capacity building for frontline health workers.

The distribution took place at the Nkpor and Uno Primary Health Centres in Abor Village, Umuoji, located in the Idemili North Local Government Area. A total of 150 kits were distributed to healthcare facilities, with additional kits kept in custody by health personnel to ensure that pregnant women not participating in the outreach could benefit.

The kits contained essential delivery materials aimed at promoting clean and safe childbirth practices. Chioma Elo Okoy, the Anambra State Coordinator for HACEY, described the initiative as part of a broader commitment to ensure every woman experiences safe pregnancy and childbirth.

The program encourages early antenatal care and emphasizes the importance of regular health visits to detect complications early.
