HACEY and BOI Distribute 300 Birthing Kits in Anambra

HACEY, in collaboration with the Bank of Industry (BOI), distributed 300 birthing kits to pregnant women and nursing mothers in Anambra State as part of a comprehensive maternal health outreach program. This two-day intervention combined health education and capacity building for frontline health workers.

The distribution took place at the Nkpor and Uno Primary Health Centres in Abor Village, Umuoji, within the Idemili North Local Government Area. Each kit contained essential delivery materials aimed at promoting clean and safe childbirth practices.

Chioma Elo Okoy, the Anambra State Coordinator for HACEY, described the initiative as part of a broader commitment to ensure every woman experiences safe pregnancy and childbirth. The program also focused on empowering women with knowledge about pregnancy care and the importance of early antenatal visits.

Okoy stressed that recognizing danger signs during pregnancy is crucial for preventing maternal deaths and encouraged women to seek medical attention promptly.
