AIG Dantawaye Ensures Police Neutrality for Anambra Elections

On the eve of the local government elections in Anambra State, scheduled for Saturday, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 13, Miller Dantawaye, issued directives to the Commissioner of Police, Nnanna Ama, emphasizing the need for police personnel to maintain neutrality and professionalism. In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 13, ASP Chidera Oha, Dantawaye instructed that all officers deployed for the elections must remain apolitical and non-partisan.

He warned against any form of support or identification with political parties or candidates. The AIG stressed the importance of providing adequate security for all stakeholders and ensuring voters can exercise their rights peacefully.

He reiterated that the credibility of the police during the electoral process relies on the professionalism and conduct of individual officers, urging them to report any security threats promptly. The Nigeria Police Force is committed to ensuring a safe environment for the elections.
