New Anambra CP Nanna Oji Ama Assumes Office

On August 10, 2026, CP Nanna Oji Ama officially took over as the 36th Commissioner of Police for the Anambra State Police Command. His appointment followed a strategic redeployment approved by the Police Service Commission and Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu, succeeding AIG Ikioye Orutugu, who recently retired after being promoted.

Prior to this role, CP Ama served as Commissioner of Police, Intelligence and Training, at the Force Intelligence Department in Abuja, and has over three decades of experience in the Nigeria Police Force. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Jos and began his career as a Cadet Superintendent of Police.

CP Ama has expressed his commitment to consolidating security gains in Anambra and strengthening collaboration with various stakeholders, including other security agencies, traditional institutions, and community leaders.
