Angola's Foreign Minister Meets Ban Ki-moon on Security

Angola’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, António, met with former United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in Seoul, South Korea, to discuss significant security developments and challenges facing Africa. The meeting, held on Monday, focused on ongoing conflicts across the continent and evolving situations in the Middle East.

This discussion took place on the sidelines of the Korea-Africa Foreign Ministers' meeting, which aimed to deepen political dialogue and expand cooperation between African nations and South Korea. António underscored the necessity for sustained investment in specialized training and education, describing these as essential pillars for long-term development and future preparedness.

He highlighted Ban Ki-moon's global diplomatic experience as valuable for elevating African priorities in international forums. António also invited Ban to participate in the upcoming Luanda Biennial Pan-African Forum for Culture of Peace.

The meeting aligns with Angolan President João Lourenço's role as the African Union's champion for peace and reconciliation, reaffirming the importance of multilateral cooperation to address global crises.
