APC Chieftain Commends Tinubu for Oyo Pupils' Rescue

Tolu Bankol, an APC chieftain, praised President Bola Tinubu for the successful rescue of pupils and a teacher who were held captive for 56 days in Oyo State. Bankol's statement, issued in Abuja, highlighted the improved coordination among Nigeria's security agencies under Tinubu's administration, which led to the successful operation.

He expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives during the incident, including Michael Oyedokun, and emphasized the need for a comprehensive school safety framework to prevent future attacks. Bankol urged the government to adopt proactive measures, such as fencing schools and training properly equipped guards, to protect students from becoming soft targets.

He also called for community involvement in school security and improvements in school infrastructure. Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde visited the rescued victims at the Nigerian Army's Odogbo Barrack in Ibadan, assuring that their sacrifices were not in vain.
