Yoruba Leaders Praise Tinubu, Makinde for Rescue Efforts

Yoruba leaders have commended President Bola Tinubu and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for the successful rescue of abducted pupils and a teacher from Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State. In a statement signed by Mr.

Bayo Aina, the group described the operation, which involved security agencies and the Amotekun security outfit, as a reflection of the effective work of the Nigerian Armed Forces in ensuring safety amid escalating banditry across the nation. They expressed pride in the operation, noting that no ransom was paid for the release of the abductees, which they believe demonstrates the high capability of the security agencies.

The leaders also extended condolences to the family of Mr. Michael Oyedokun, a security officer who lost his life during the operation.

They called on the federal government to investigate foreign involvement in various crimes across the country, highlighting the need for a multifaceted approach to rescue operations.
